In July 2013 I ran the renowned Boilermaker 15K road race. It was my largest race to date both in runners and crowd size. The weather was hazy, hot & humid at 7AM as thousands of runners waited at the start and I was both nervous and excited. Heck my wife Julie and son Max were watching on television at home and actually saw me cross the starting line. They even saw a glimpse of me at the finish as well.

The 2015 Boilermaker is this coming Sunday July 13th and I wanted to share a few memories from my experience with this amazing race. I’ll admit I am kind of sad that I haven’t run this race since 2013. On a brighter note I’m also very excited because so many of my friends will be there this year running the streets of Utica in one of the United States largest 15K events.

I’d like to take the time to wish them the best of luck on Sunday, to run strong but most of all have a great time. Cheers to you all!

After race packet pickup I put Michael on the Adirondack Scenic Railroad. He road the train from Utica to Thendera where I picked him up.
