On the afternoon of July 31 1st 2013 my company The “New York Susquehanna and Western Railway Corporation” handled the James E. Strates Carnival Train between Port Jervis, New York and Binghamton, New York. Norfolk Southern crews took the train west to Elmira for the Chemung County Fair. http://www.strates.com

I had just gotten off my train and was returning to the yard office. Exhausted I had no desire to go and check it out. I mean really how interesting could a pair of black locomotives be anyway pulling a string of stainless steel coaches and flat cars.

However last year I did venture out to see it when we ran it. The weather sucked and again we were treated to those dismal black locomotives. However in Narrowsburg, New York for a short time the sun dropped from the clouds to produce a glimpse of hope.
