Finally the warmer weather has arrived in our tiny part of the world. We made some changes this year, by ripping out our garden (Nothing grew very well there anyway) and planted several lilac trees instead. We also planted eleven tomato plants into half whiskey barrels in another location. One with more direct sun, along with some peppers, cucumbers and herbs which went into large planters. We decided to go this route and try what we call planter gardening this year.

Pool cover removed, flower beds weeded and preened and a freshly baked rhubarb crisp have definitely envied the beginnings of the summer season. However with tons and tons of yard work and improvements left to do I believe we have gotten off to a good start.

How about you! Where are you at in your spring/summer yard work plans?

Happy Planting!
